Privacy policy

World Street, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) has established the following “Policy for Handling of Personal Information”.

1. Policy for Handling of Personal Information

The Company will comply with the laws and regulations, “Guidelines for the Protection of Personal Information in the Telecommunications Business” (hereinafter referred to as “Guidelines”), and internal rules and other regulations, properly manage and protect personal information handled in the course of business activities, and ensure that customers, business partners, shareholders, officers and employees (hereinafter referred to as “Employees”) of the Company, as well as other interested parties (hereinafter referred to as “Customers, etc.”) have access to the information.

(Compliance with Laws and Regulations)

The Company will comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the Provisions of the Telecommunications Business Act, and other related laws and regulations pertaining to the confidentiality of communications with regard to the acquisition, use, and all other handlings of personal information of Customers and others.

(Specification and Announcement of the Purpose of Use)

The Company will specify in advance to the greatest extent possible the purpose of the use of the Customer’s personal information obtained by the Company. In the event that the Company acquires personal information directly from the customer or others in a written contract or other documents, the Company will specify the purpose of its use in advance. Please refer to our website for each service for the purpose of use.

(Use within the Scope of the Purpose of Use)

The Company will use the Customer’ personal information, etc. only within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use specified and announced in advance. However, in cases where one of the items of Article 6, Paragraph 3 of the Guidelines applies, the Company may use the personal information of customers, etc. beyond the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use as specified and announced in advance.

(Retention Period)

Unless otherwise provided for by law, the Company will set a retention period for the personal information of the Customers, etc. within the scope necessary for the purpose of use, and after the retention period has elapsed or the purpose of use has been achieved, the Customer’s personal information will be deleted without delay. However, this does not apply in cases where one of the items of Article 10, Paragraph 2 of the Guidelines applies.

(Safety Management Measures)

The Company will strive to keep the Customer’s personal information accurate and up-to-date and take the necessary and appropriate security control measures to protect it from unauthorized access, falsification, leakage, loss, and damage.

(Employee Supervision)

The Company will supervise its employees as necessary and appropriate to ensure the safe management of personal information of customers and others. In addition, we will provide our Employees with the education and training necessary to ensure the proper handling of personal information.

(Supervision of Contractors)

The Company may outsource all or part of the handling of personal information to a third party within the scope of the purpose of use. When selecting a subcontractor, we will confirm that the subcontractor is handling personal information properly and require the subcontractor to handle the personal information of our Customers and others in an appropriate manner. In addition, the contractor shall be subject to necessary and appropriate supervision, such as the inclusion of an audit of the handling of personal information in the contract.

(Provision of Information to Third Parties)

We will not provide our Customer’s personal information to a third party without their consent, except in the cases listed in Article 15.1 of the Guidelines or as otherwise provided by law.

(Joint Use)

If the recipient of such personal information falls under any one of the items of Article 15.4 of the Guidelines, we shall assume that the recipient of such personal information does not fall under the category of “Third Party”, the Company may outsource the handling of the Customer’s personal information to a Third Party, provide it to a Third Party, or share it with a specific Third Party without the Customer’s consent. The scope of shared use is mainly limited to companies in our corporate group but may be shared with other specific parties. When sharing personal information, the items of personal information to be shared, the purpose of use, the name of the person responsible for managing the personal information, etc., will be announced on the designated website for each service.

(Request for Disclosure)

If the Customers wish to be informed of the purpose of use of the Customer’s personal information, to have their personal information disclosed, corrected, added or deleted, or to stop the use or provision of their personal information to a Third Party, please make your request in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the Company. Please refer to the website of each service for the procedures for requesting disclosure of personal information.

(Grievance Procedure)

The Company will respond promptly and appropriately to complaints and other inquiries from our Customers and others regarding the handling of personal information. Complaints and other inquiries will be posted on the website for each service.

(Response to a leak of Personal Information)

In the event of a leak of our Customer’s Personal Information, the Company will respond promptly and appropriately, including promptly notifying the Customers of the facts.

(Continuous improvement)

The Company will strive to continuously improve the handling of personal information within the Company through the establishment of internal regulations on personal information protection, Employees training, and internal audits.
